Psp tutorial: Happy Thanksgiving


This tutorial is entirely my own idea. The tubes are created by me, so please leave the layers intact. The tubes can always be used for personal stuff, you only have to ask permission first if you would like to use them in a tutorial.


This tutorial will be written in English.

I've made this tutorial in PSP 2019, but can be made in other PSP versions as well. Don't forget to save your work from time to time.


Materials:
Family At Thanksgiving 1 (misted) - here.
Harvest Festival (misted) - here.
Thanksgiving Harvest (misted) tube - here.
Thanksgiving Turkey (misted) - here.
Turkey - here.
Abstract Architecture mask - here.
Download all other materials here.

Place the patterns, masks, etcetera in the right folders.

Plugins:
Graphics Plus - Cross Shadow
Mura's Meister - Copies
AAA Frames - Foto Frame
  • Foreground colour: #8d5403
  • Background colour: #5c3902

Alright, let's get started!

1) Open a transparent background of 900 x 700 px.
2) Flood fill the image with the background colour.
3) Go to Effects ---> Plugins ---> Graphics Plus ---> Cross Shadow and use the following settings (default):


4) Press on your keyboard on Ctrl + A.
5) Open the tube "Thanksgiving_Harvest-Nolver_15112018".
6) Copy the tube and paste it into the selection. Remove the selection.

7) Effects ---> Image Effects ---> Seamless Tiling: Default settings.
8) Effects ---> Reflection Effects ---> Rotation Mirror:


9) Adjust ---> Blur:
  • Radius: 7,00
10) Adjust ---> Blur --->Radial Blur:


11) Duplicate the layer.
12) Mirror the layer and then flip it (in newer versions of Psp go to Image ---> Mirror ---> Mirror Horizontal and then Image ---> Mirror ---> Mirror Vertical).
13) Open the mask "Abstract_Architecture-Nolver_16112018" in Psp and go back to your work.
14) Layers ---> New Mask Layer ---> From Image and search in the source window for the mask "Abstract_Architecture-Nolver_16112018" (Choose Source Luminance, Invert Mask Data not checked).
15) Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Group.

16) Effects ---> 3D Effects ---> Drop Shadow:


17) Effects ---> Edge Effects ---> Enhance More.
18) Layers ---> Duplicate.
19) Image ---> Mirror ---> Mirror Horizontal.
20) Image ---> Flip ---> Flip Vertical. This is how your image should look like:


21) Copy and paste the tube "Family@Thanksgiving1-Nolver_15112018" on your image. Move the layer to the top.
22) Select on the layer palette the first layer (Raster 1) and copy it.
23) Activate the top layer.

24) Add a new raster layer to your image.
25) Selections ---> Load/Save Selection ---> Load Selection From Disk and search for the file "Selection_Thanksgiving_1-Nolver". Use the following settings and then press on Load:


26) Edit ---> Paste into Selection.
27) Go to Effects ---> Plugins ---> Graphics Plus ---> Cross Shadow and use the default settings.
28) Effects ---> Texture Effects ---> Blinds:


29) Remove the selection.
30) Add the following Drop Shadow:


31) Repeat the Drop Shadow but change the value from the horizontal and vertical offset to -1.
32) Effects ---> Plugins ---> Mura's Meister ---> Copies:


33) Effects ---> Edge Effects ---> Enhance More.
34a) Layers ---> Duplicate.
34b) Mirror the layer. Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Down.

35) Add a new raster layer and make the following linear gradient:


36) Flood fill the layer with the gradient.
37) Open the mask "aditascreations_mask_12" and go back to your work.
38) Layers ---> New Mask Layer ---> From Image and search in the source window for the mask "aditascreations_mask_12"(Choose Source Luminance, Invert Mask Data not checked).
39) Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Group.
40) Add the following Drop Shadow:


41) Repeat the Drop Shadow with -5 and -10.
42) Effects ---> Edge Effects ---> Enhance More.
43) Layers ---> Arrange ---> Move Down.
44a) Activate the layer with the family members.
44b) Layers ---> Arrange ---> Bring To Top.
45. Duplicate the layer 2 more times and then merge the layers with the family members together. Erase the hard edges of this layer with the Eraser tool if it's necessary.

46) Copy and paste the tube "Thanksgiving_Turkey-Nolver_15112018" as new layer on your image.
47) Resize the layer 3x with 85%. Put it on the right side at the bottom. Duplicate this layer.
48) Open the tube "Harvest_Festival-Nolver_15112018". Copy and paste it as new layer on your image. Move the layer a bit to the left side of your image. Duplicate this layer.

49) Open the tube "Turkey-Nolver_15112015". Copy and paste it as new layer on your image.
50) Resize the layer 3x with 70%.
51) Move the layer to the right side of your image at the bottom.
52) Drop Shadow: 2; -5, 100; 37,62; black.

53) Merge all layers together (Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge All).
54) Image ---> Add borders: 3px #e6be9e, Symmetric checked.
55) Image ---> Add borders and use the following settings (colour =  foreground colour):


56) Open the image "Wood" in Psp and copy the image. Go back to your image.
57) Activate the Magic Wand tool and select the border.
58) Selections ---> Promote Selection To Layer.
59) Edit ---> Paste Into Selection.
60) In the Layers palette, change the blend mode of this layer to Luminance Legacy.

61) Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Visible.
62) Selections ---> Invert.
63) Effects ---> Plugins ---> AAA Frames ---> Foto Frame:


64) Effects ---> 3D Effects ---> Drop Shadow: -6; -7; 100; 16,83; black. Repeat the drop shadow, but change the first two values into 6 and 7.
65. Remove the selection.

66) Copy and paste the text tube as new layer on your image.
67) Resize the text with 65% and move it to the bottom in de middle of the image.
68) Give it a drop shadow of your choice. I used the following settings: 4; -1; 100; 16,83; black.
69) Image ---> Add borders: 3px #e6be9e, Symmetric checked. 
70) Add the tube "DecoBullets-Nolver_16112018" below the image on the left and on the right side.
71) Add your name or watermark on your image and save it as JPG.
72) Done!
