Psp tutorial: Kiss Me

This tutorial is entirely my own idea. The female tube is created by Lexha. You can find her website here.

It's unknown who created the "male_blended_tut" tube. If it is yours, please let me know, then I'll give the credits back to you.

The other tubes are created by me, so please leave the layers intact. The tubes can always be used for personal stuff, you only have to ask permission first if you would like to use them in a tutorial.

 This tutorial will be written in English.

==========

 I've made this tutorial in PSP X6, but can be made in other PSP versions as well. Don't forget to save your work from time to time. I assume you know how to work with the Mirror and Flip script in PSP X6.

Materials:
Calm Blue Lake (misted) tube - here.
Grey Hearts tube - here.
Floral Lace mask - here.
Round Lace Pattern mask - here.

Download all other materials here.
Place the tubes, masks, etcetera in the right folders.

Plugins:
Simple --- Pizza Slice Mirror
Texture --- Texturizer
Graphics Plus --- Cross Shadow
  • Foreground colour: #ffffff
  • Background colour: #f3cbad

Alright, let's get started!

1) Open a new transparent image of 700 x 600 px.
2) Fill the image with the background colour.
3) Add a new raster layer and fill it with the foreground colour.
4) Go to Layers ---> Load/Save Mask ---> Load Mask From Disc and search for the mask "Floral_Lace-Nolver_14022016.pspmask.". Use the following settings:

5) Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Group.
6) Duplicate the mask layer. Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Down.
7) Add a new raster layer and fill it with the foreground colour.
8) Open the mask "Round_Lace_Pattern-Nolver_01042016.jpg" in Psp. Go back to your work.
9) Layers ---> New Mask Layer ---> From Image and search for the mask "Round_Lace_Pattern-Nolver_01042016.jpg". Choose for "Source Luminance", "Invert Mask Data" checked.
10) Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Group.
11) Change the opacity from this layer to 45 (go to Layers ---> Properties).

12) Open the tube "Calm_Blue_Lake-Nolver_30042015.pspimage". Copy the porcelain layer. Go back to your work and paste it as new layer on your image.
13) Go to menu Adjust ---> Hue and Saturation ---> Colorize: Hue = 18; Saturation = 91 ---> Ok.
14) Copy and paste the tube "male-blended-tut.psp" as new layer on your image.
15) Mirror the layer and then duplicate it. Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Down. Move the tube slightly upwards and a bit to the left.

16) Open the tube "Lexha_Lemon_september2008.pspimage". Copy and paste it as new layer on your work.
17) Effects ---> 3D Effects ---> Drop Shadow:

Place the woman on the right side. See the example below:

18) Image ---> Add borders: 5px symmetric, foreground colour.
Image ---> Add borders: 25px symmetic, background colour.
19) Select the large border with your Magic Wand tool (feather = 0; tolerance = 0).
20) Add a new raster layer and fill it with white.
21) Go to Layers ---> Load/Save Mask ---> Load Mask From Disc and search for the mask "Floral_Lace-Nolver_14022016.pspmask.". Use the following settings:

22) Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Group.
23) Effects ---> Plugins ---> Simple ---> Pizza Slice Mirror.
24) Duplicate the mask layer. Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Down.
25) Adjust ---> Sharpness ---> Sharpen.
26) Remove the selection.
27) Image ---> Add borders: 5px symmetric, foreground colour.
Image ---> Add borders: 25px symmetic, background colour.
28) Repeat step 19 to 25.
29) Effects ---> 3D Effects ---> Drop Shadow:

Remove the selection.

31) Copy and paste the tube "Grey Hearts-Nolver_16032011.pspimage" as new layer on your image.
32) Press on Shift - L. Hue = 254; Saturation = 24.
33) Resize the image with 75%, Resize All Layers, not checked. Put the hearts on the left side at the bottom. Repeat the Drop Shadow from step 29.
34) Copy and paste the text "Kiss Me" as new layer on your image. Repeat step 32.
35) Place the text anywhere you want. I have placed mine at the left side on the top.

36) Add a border of 2px, colour white.
Add a border of 25px, colour #826c6d. Select the purple border with your Magic Wand tool.
37) Effects ---> Plugins ---> Texture ---> Texturizer:

38) Effects ---> Plugins ---> Graphics Plus ---> Cross Shadow ---> default. Remove the selection.
39) Add a border of 1px white.
40) Add your name/watermark on a new layer and save your image as JPG.
41) Done!

I'd love to see your own creation from this tutorial. I'll post it here.

  1. Hey Ona!

    I've seen the male_blended_tut tube since 2008 or something. Even I have never known from whom it is.

    Cute tutorial though!
