Psp tutorial: Good Night

The original tutorial was written by PspGirl, but because I couldn't retrieve the original tutorial, I assembled the whole tutorial alone by myself.

The Flower tube was created by Gerry.

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Gerrystubes/

It is unknown who created the mask tube. If it is yours, let me know so that I can give the credits back to you.

All other tubes are created by me, so please leave the layers intact. The tubes can always be used for personal stuff, you only have to ask permission first if you would like to use them in a tutorial.

This tutorial will be written in English.

==========

I've made this tutorial in PSP X2, but can be made in other PSP versions as well. Don't forget to save your work from time to time.

Materials:
Sleeping Woman (misted) tube - here.
Digital Universe 1 (misted) tube - here.
Gerry-Bloemen 152 - 24 januari 2015 - in zip.
Perspective Flooring 2 mask - in zip.
Marge_TopFade mask - in zip.
Text animation - in zip.

Download the zip file here.

You will also need Animation Shop.

Place the tubes, masks, etcetera in the right folders.

Plugins:
Alien Skin Xenofex 2 - Constellation.
FM Tile Tools ---> Blend Emboss.
Graphics Plus - Cross Shadow.
VM Natural - Sparkle
Before opening Corel Paint Shop Pro, install the plugins first.

Alright, let's get started!

1) Open a transparent image of 800 X 600 pixels.
2) Set the foreground colour to #552a2a and the background colour on #d4a2a1. Make a rectangular gradient and use the following settings:

Flood fill your image with the rectangular gradient.
3) Open the tube "Digital_Universe1-Nolver_28052014". Copy and paste it as new layer on your image. Activate the Rulers by going to menu View ---> Rulers. Press on K. Reduce the height of the layer so that it coincides with 250px on the ruler. Place your mouse on the tiny square on the bottom (node) in the middle and pull it up. See the example below.

4) Change the blend mode of the layer into Hard Light. Go to menu Adjust ---> Hue and Saturation ---> Colorize: Hue = 255; Saturation = 10.
5) Effects ---> Plugins ---> Graphics Plus ---> Cross Shadow: Intensity = 40; Brightness = 128; Leave all other settings on 50.
6) Duplicate the layer. Go to menu Image ---> Flip. Effects ---> Image Effects ---> Offset and use the following settings:

Press on K. Increase the height of the layer. See the example below:

Effects ---> Plugins ---> FM Tile Tools ---> Blend Emboss ---> Default ---> Ok. Change the opacity of this layer into 30%.
7)  Add a new raster layer. Flood fill the layer with the background colour.
8) Go to Layers ---> Load/Save Mask ---> Load Mask From Disk and search for the mask "sg_perspective-flooring-2". Use the following settings:

Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Group.
9) Activate the Selection tool on the left side and click on Custom Selection. See the example below:

10) Use the following settings:

11) Press on Delete. Remove the selection.
12) Press on K. Increase the height of the layer. Let it coinside with 230px on the ruler. See the example below:

Press on M.
13) Repeat the Cross Shadow plugin with the same settings. Image ---> Flip.
14) Go to Layers ---> Load/Save Mask ---> Load Mask From Disk and search for the mask "Marge_TopFade". Use the following settings:

Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Group. Image ---> Flip.
15) Repeat the Cross Shadow plugin with the same settings.
16) Effects ---> Plugins ---> VM Natural ---> Sparkle and use the following settings:

Change the opacity of this layer into 55%.
17) Open the tube "Sleeping_Woman-Nolver_05072015". Copy and paste the tube as new layer on your image.
18) Go to Image ---> Resize and use the following settings:

19) Image ---> Mirror. Adjust ---> Sharpness ---> Sharpen. Move the layer a bit to the top.
20) Change the blend mode of this layer into Luminance (L). Duplicate the layer. Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Down.
21) Duplicate the layer. Image ---> Flip.  Effects ---> Image Effects ---> Offset and use the following settings:

23) Add your name/watermark on a new layer. Place it on the left side of your image. This is because of the animation we'll add later on.
24) Add a border of 2px, background colour. Add a border of 5px, foreground colour.
25) Open the tube "Gerry-Bloemen 152 - 24 januari 2015". Copy and paste it as new layer on your image.
26) Adjust ---> Hue and Saturation ---> Colorize and use the following settings:

27) Image ---> Resize ---> Resize the image with 50%, bicubic, Resize all layers unchecked. Move the layer to the left.
28) Duplicate the background layer 3 more times and duplicate the rose layer 3 more times. Your layer palette should look like this:

29) Activate the first background layer (Background). Activate the Freehand Selection tool and use the following settings:

30) Select with your mouse a part of the moon. See the example below.

31) Go to Effects ---> Plugins --->  VM Natural ---> Sparkle and use the following settings:

32) Select the second background layer (Copy of Background), repeat the Sparkle plugin but change the Random Seed setting in 27.
33) Select the third background layer (Copy (2) of Background), repeat the Sparkle plugin but change the Random Seed setting in 54.
34) Select the fourth background layer (Copy (3) of Background), repeat the Sparkle plugin but change the Random Seed setting in 97. Remove the selection.
35) Select the first rose layer (Raster 1). Go to Effects ---> Plugins ---> Alien Skin Xenofex 2 ---> Constellation and use the following settings:

36) Select the second rose layer (Copy of Raster 1), repeat the Constellation plugin, but click only one time on the Random Seed button.
37) Select the third rose layer (Copy (2) of Raster 1), repeat the Constellation plugin, but click only one time on the Random Seed button.
38) Select the fourth rose layer (Copy (3) of Raster 1), repeat the Constellation plugin, but click only one time on the Random Seed button.
39) Arrange the background layers and the rose layers alternately, the first rose layer comes above the first background layer, the second rose layers comes above the second background layer, etc.
This is how it should look like:

40) Activate the fourth Rose layer (Copy (3) of Raster 1). Layers ---> Merge ---> Merge Down. Merge the other rose layers with the associated background layer. All background layers should now have a rose in it, you now only have 4 layers left.
41) Save your work as Psp file (Animation Shop).
42) Open your work you just have saved, in Animation Shop. Activate the first frame. Open in AS the animation "Goodnight Text-Nolver". Remove the first and the last frame.
43) Press on Ctrl-A on your keyboard. Place your mouse pointer on the first frame of the text animation and drag it to your work to the first frame, while keeping your mouse button pressed. If you're content with the location of the text, release the mouse button.. Close the text animation.
44) Press on Ctrl-A on your keyboard. Go to the menu Animation ---> Frame Properties ---> Display time = 25.
45) Save your work as GIF. Click 3x on next and then finish.
46) Done!

I'd love to see your own creation from this tutorial. I'll post it here.
